Registration for soccer starts on May 1st and runs through June 30th. Families registering before May 31st receive a $15.00 "early-bird" discount per player.
Players starting
Kindergarten in August and players entering 1st grade play in a training league
run by the IWAA. Teams play 7 vs. 7 on reduced size fields with smaller goals.
All games are played at Incarnate Word on Saturday mornings beginning after Labor Day. Games are played
against other Incarnate Word teams. All participants receive a trophy at the end
of the season. Teams are formed at a pre-season Training League Coach's meeting
in August. Only children who are in Kindergarten or 1st grade when the season
begins are eligible to participate. Grades 2 thru 8 play in the West County
District of the CYC against other schools in that league. Second and third grade teams play 8
vs. 8 on smaller fields, while 4th thru 8th grade play 11 vs. 11 on larger fields.
New teams are formed when entering the second grade. These teams are then kept
the same from year to year All Incarnate Word parishioners will be placed on an
established parish team or will form new teams with other parishioners. New registrants
that are not registered parishioners at Incarnate Word are welcome to join the
program where space on established parish rosters permit. In the event of significant
rostering issues, parishioners will be given priority over non-parishioners.
Practices generally start in mid-August, but vary depending on the coach. Games begin after Labor Day.
